DIMA expands their “Modular growth” concept by introducing their new MP-100 Pick & Place machine! 2-11-2007 | | After successfully introducing the growth concept for Pick & Place machines with the presentation of the HP-090/095, DIMA now takes it one step further! During Productronica 2007 DIMA will introduce the new MP-100, a modular build Pick & Place machine based on the unique SEC®-frame (Stabilised Enforced Construction). The combination of stability, modularity and flexibility makes this new Pick & Place machine the ideal starting platform for any manufacturer of electronics that is aiming for future expansion.
Different to many other manufacturers of pick & place machines DIMA abandoned the conventional way of building a frame for a pick & place machine. No loose pro-files, not even a construction build up out of two welded steel frames bolted together was good enough for this new concept. The complete frame is constructed and build from one part providing the most rigid and therefore stable construction needed for fast and accurate movements. This SEC®-frame ensures the best pos-sible accuracy over a large working area at the speed required in pick and place machines. At an entry level price of Euro. 30.000 DIMA has set a new standard in the field of pick & place machines. Modular built with space for up to 180 fully intelli-gent single tape feeder positions, or 360 sticks and an maximum PCB size of 310 x 500 mm this machine can place components varying from 0201 up to 42 x 42 mm. Unlike many other machines even the basic machine doesn’t use laser alignment, but is already equipped with one fiducial alignment camera and one component camera for component recognition providing fine pitch co-planarity recognition and BGA ball recognition without additional cost. The MP-100 is available as a stand-alone, or in-line machine. The modular concept is lifted to an even higher level when compared to the existing HP-090/095 machines. Not only expanding with an extra pipette, component camera and feeder positions additionally the stand-alone ma-chine can even be upgraded to become an in-line machine. Decisions from the past based on know-how available at that time are no longer a limitation for the future. Invest now in the capacity that is needed at this stage and take your machine to the next level whenever necessary. The MP-100 is provided with that same user friendly software as the current DIMA line of pick & place machines. Even the same full in-telligent feeders from the DIMA Hybrid series of pick & place machines can be used in the MP-100. The maximum component height to be placed by the machine is 16mm. This means that a 16mm high component can be placed over a previously placed 16mm high component. Components can be processed from tape, stick or tray. The standard MP-100 can place components at a speed of 3.000cph IPC rated, but also the speed can grow along with future requirements. In combination with the DIMA CAD converter software and off-line feeder programming station a zero change over time can be guaranteed.
During Productronica 2007 in Munich (November 13 – 16), DIMA SMT Systems will live demonstrate the new MP-100 Pick & Place capabilities. You can find the DIMA’s Pick & Place Systems in hall A4 on stand number 480.
