Creating a new line of curing ovens capable of handling medium- to high production throughputs to be placed in-line with the HC-series of dispensing and coating machines was a logical next step for DIMA after the successful introduction of the Hybrid Selective Conformal Coating systems. Based on the exterior of the Solano reflow oven, DIMA has designed the new Curano range of infra red curing ovens.

Besides the looks of the Solano there are no further similarities to be found within the Curano. The interior has been completely new designed and is based on the experiences of curing many different materials for both conformal coating as well as dispensing applications. The interior is modular built in order to select the best suited amount of heating zones for both top and bottom heating. There are two ba-sic versions to choose from; the CO-461 with a heated tunnel length of 2100mm, or the CO-462 with a heated tunnel length of 4300mm. The Curano comes standard with a pin conveyor. The pin size of this conveyor is 5mm as a standard, but op-tional a 3mm pin size can be chosen. Both top and bottom clearance in the Curano are 100mm in order to provide enough space to cure high products. Even a custom-ised clearance can be realised as well. Normally the gasses evaporating out of coating materials are heavier than air. To prevent these gasses to be collect in the bottom chambers of the oven, these chambers can optional be pressurised. To-gether with a thin metal gauze tightened over the heating elements and a forced fume extraction the oven becomes fully explosion proofed. In case a combination of heat and humidity is needed to cure a material DIMA can provide a humidity control unit that injects steam inside the curing tunnel. The amount of steam is constantly being monitored and regulated during operation.

The microprocessor controlled Curano can be used in-line, or stand alone. The pin conveyor is adjustable in width allowing product sizes ranging from 30 mm up to a maximum of 450 mm. The conveyor speed of the Curano is adjustable from 50 mm/minute up to 800 mm/minute.

The Curano can have up to 8 controlled heating zones. The temperature measure-ment accuracy in the heating zones is within a few degrees Celsius. Consistent edge-to-edge temperatures are maintained regardless of product size or density. The Curano is equipped with a DIMASoft temperature profiler that is capable to store up to 6 different reflow profiles. Up to 99 different heating programs can be stored in the microprocessor of the Curano. Through the RS232 interface an op-tional PC with oven manager software can be connected providing unlimited storage capacity for profiles and programs.
