3 MODULO's installed at KCS

Due to the increased demand for electronic equipment KCS Electronica Assemblage in Dordrecht, The Netherlands decided to expand their production process. To achieve this you need machines that are even faster, more accurate and more flexible. That’s why it wasn’t that difficult to make the decision to choose for 3 DIMA Modulo pick & place machines and the Solano Reflow Oven.
KCS already has been working with DIMA pick & place machines for 17 consecutive years. They started using the Optimat followed by the Dymaxion for 9 problem-free years, so the choice for the Modulo (MP-100) and the Solano (RO-510) was obvious.

Production process running at full speed
In the mean time KCS has 3 Modulo’s and one Solano running at full speed in Dordrecht.
The new bought Modulo’s give KCS, in combination with the real intelligent feeders, optimum flexibil-ity. This leads to zero change overtime and the flexibility of producing different batch sizes at the same time. The Solano RO-510, the Reflow oven, offers exact control of all cells and total perform-ance consistency, even under varying loads. This makes the Solano, plus its singular ability to func-tion as a full convection reflow, the most wanted premium-level system.

Built for Growth
Next to features like speed, accuracy, flexibility and easy to use, the Modulo’s have the advantage that they are modular expandable, the so called DIMA ‘Built-for-Growth’ concept. This gives the cus-tomer the possibility to configure the machine to the demands at the time of investment. When the demands of the market change, he can upgrade the DIMA-machine on site with the required mod-ules. And this upgrade is already demanded by KCS! Because of the expanded order portfolio KCS took the decision to upgrade all 3 Modulo MP-100’s with 6.000 CPH to a Modulo MP-200 with 12.000 CPH. Because of the ‘Built-for-Growth’ concept only the pick & place head of the MP-100’s with 2 pi-pettes has to be replaced by the pick & place head of the MP-200 with 4 pipettes.

KCS is founded in 1984 and is located at a historic building at the Kuipershaven Dordrecht since 1986. KCS is specialized in manufacturing small to large numbers of electronic equipment. The whole process of design up to the end-product can be handled by KCS.
The core activity of KCS is the assembly of printed circuit boards, both conventional as well as sur-face mounted. The surface mounted components are fully automated picked-and-placed with spe-cialized equipment. An optical recognition system ensures that the SMT components are very pre-cisely placed. The soldering is in-line with the help of the reflow process. When purchasing our resource materials (such as: solders, flux, etc.) KCS never trades in quality. We always use the highest quality to prevent problems in the long run.
